In his light blue jacket, Shel Weisberg looks out from behind his high counter at the four aisles of his store.
He's invested 38 years of his life here. Now, he waits on the children and grandchildren of his original customers. And his store employs 22 full- and part-time workers, including moms, students and retirees.
But what crosses his face isn't a smile.
"It's been a good run but I'm afraid this will be it," says the Bloomfield Hills resident.
You've already said good-bye to your local bookstore, your local department store and your local grocery.
Your local drugstore is next.
This time, the culprit isn't some big national chain. It's the Big Three and the UAW. And they'll tell you it's all for the right reasons: Everyone wants to slow down the continually rising costs of prescription drugs.
