Support House Bills 4987, 5435, 5436, 5437 & 5438. Here’s how.

Support from Michigan patients is vital to assure unrestricted choice for pharmacy customers. The Consumer Prescription Protection Act now being considered in Lansing guarantees a same-cost option of shopping locally or by mail for prescription drugs.

Local pharmacies can fill prescriptions just as economically as mail-order warehouses, but are blocked by insurance management companies that own the mail facilities – an obvious conflict of interest. Forcing health plan participants to order medications from out-of-state vendors jeopardizes quality healthcare and Michigan’s economy. Already, $2 billion unnecessarily flows out of our state each year for mail order prescriptions.

You can help reverse this trend by asking legislators from your area to support the Consumer Prescription Protection Act, House Bills 4987 and HBs 5435, 5436, 5437 and 5438. Click on ‘Contact Your Legislator’ at left to find local representatives by providing a zip code or city. You’ll also see how to send letters.

Please write your legislators today. It will make a critical difference.
